I get many inquiries from my readers to write simple steps to follow to have a Nigerian passport renewed in Dubai.
For clarity, the Nigerian Consulate office in Dubai do not issue passport as I have written in full details in my other post – Nigerian Consulate in Dubai: Passport Renewal
This post is to simplify the process and tell you what to do to renew your Nigerian international passport from the Nigerian Consulate office in Dubai to receive your passport in the Embassy of Nigeria, Abu Dhabi.
Nigeria passport renewal in Dubai: 4 Simple Steps to Follow
Step 1: Online Application on Nigeria Immigration Website
Visit the Nigerian Immigration website
- Select the e-standard passport (Passport Type*)
- The second box (Processing Country*) click and select UAE where you wish to attend the interview.
NOTE: You can keep either your Gmail account or yahoo open to walk the process easily.
NOTE: DUE TO COVID 19 RELATED DISRUPTIONS, BEFORE BEGINNING A NEW APPLICATION AND/OR MAKING A PAYMENT, PLEASE CONTACT THE NIGERIAN EMBASSY OR IMMIGRATION OFFICE FOR OPENING DATES/TIMES AND HOURS OF SERVICE.
Step 2: Pay at the Nigerian Consulate Office in Dubai
This process from step 1 should take you to the next page where you can printout your online application.
When you go to the Nigerian Consulate office in Dubai, go with your online application and your expired passport.
Please visit the Nigerian Consulate office in Dubai at 22A (22nd Floor), Silver Tower, Cluster 1, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai UAE.
Working days: Monday and Wednesday
Time: 9am to 4pm.
Step 3: Embassy of Nigeria, Abu Dhabi – Capturing and Collection
Once you are done with step 2, you will take the printed application form that you filled from the immigration website and the payment receipt you paid online or the one given to you from OIC to Nigeria Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
They only operate on any passport related issues on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 9am to 12pm.
Please note: you can also make payment in Embassy of Nigeria, Abu Dhabi.

Only those with confirmed appointments will be allowed entry into the Embassy.
ONLY Fifteen (15) applicants will be attended to, between 0900hours – 1200hours daily.

Passport Application: TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS, FROM 0900HRS –1200HRS.
Step 4: Abu Dhabi Covid-19 Restriction
You will need a covid-19 negative text result to enter Abu Dhabi when going to Embassy of Nigeria, Abu Dhabi for capturing and collection of your international passport.
Abu Dhabi has said all travelers who wish to get tested by the new Covid-19 laser-testing method at the border must pre-book their appointments online.

Conclusion
- When you complete your application online call this number 02 4431503 Ext. 123 or 208 to secure an appointment for passport renewal.
- Ensure you go with all required documents, including Original and photocopies before to the Embassy;
- Capturing and passport collections will be on Tuesday and Thursday between 0900HRS – 1200HRS
- Nigeria Embassy will only attend to people with confirmed appointments.
- if you fail to come on the appointment date, you will have to rebook by calling 02 4431503
- The cost of passport renewal should be less than AED600 and the transaction is by POS; Mastercard and Visa are accepted.
